| Lynda Toews was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in
1962 and has worked there as a graphic designer and an art teacher for
many years. Her education includes a Graphic Arts Certificate, a
Fine Arts Degree, and an Education Degree.
Toews is an artist of varied interests including portraiture, landscapes and domestic animals. She grew up with many pets in the house, especially dogs - her sister is one of Manitoba's top Shetland Sheepdog breeders. Her love of animals shows in the care she takes in representing not only their accurate conformation but their facial expression as well. Toew's artistic career includes many juried exhibitions and prizes, publication of her art in various magazines, a 130 foot mural in the Winnipeg International Airport, and many years as an animal portrait artist with clients from as far as Hawaii and Kenya. |
