So, who am I? I am artist with a passion
for animals and portraying my subjects with great realism and integrity.
Now, after working several years in the corporate environment and doing my
art on the side, I am a full-time pet portrait artist!
My life as an artist actually began at age 15, when I won the Cranbrook Institute of Wildlife Art Competition in Michigan. This is when I realized my talent. After graduating from high school, I attended the Center for Creative Studies on a scholarship. After a year and a half, I decided it wasn't for me. My instructors actually criticized my realism. I knew in my heart that my future as an artist depended on my ability to see life for what it is and to portray it with spirit and sensation. About three years ago I gave a friend a portrait of his dog as a gift. This single drawing spurred others to request portraits of their pets. It was not long before my passion for animals and art turned into a business. So, here I am today doing what I love -- living as a full-time pet portrait artist!
