Helen Howerton
| Helen Howerton describes herself as "one of those
people who can't imagine life without our canine friends ... and I now
have two labs: Chelsea (Yellow) and Hi (Chocolate) ... Hi is usually in
the studio when I'm working as he follows me everywhere."
The Howertons have been married 35 years and have two sons who both live and work in Tulsa. They enjoy visiting the National Parks where Helen gathers her reference photographs and creates small watercolor studies of the landscape and wildlife. Both are avid hunters of both deer and elk. In fact, Helen's studio has several mounts that she uses in her paintings along with a Canada Goose, named Gus, that she uses for color accuracy and feather configuration. Helen works in Acrylic and Oil mediums creating original Wildlife paintings, Animal portraits and limited editions.
